According to the Department of Basic Education there are over 7 million children in South Africa living without shoes.

Many children walk far distances to school every day without wearing any shoes.

Zando.co.za, joined by its partners BizCommunity, Build-A-Bear Workshop®. CourierIT, Dialogue and Infidels have setup a national campaign to drive awareness and donate shoes to Adopt-a-School.

The campaign called #GetThemSomeShoes (www.getthemsomeshoes.co.za)  launched on April 4th 2013 and will complete on the 30th of June.

Three travelling bears are currently embarking on an adventure to raise awareness and encourage sign-ups. The bears will journey through Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.

With SA musicians like Micasa and Freshly Ground supporting the initiative, ahead of the 2013 SAMAs, Mi Casa did a live studio stream via YouTube with #GetThemSomeShoes.

Mi Casa fans could ask the band any questions they wanted via Twitter during the live stream.

For every 30 unique sign-ups, Zando.co.za will donate 30 pairs of shoes to Adopt-A-School.

To sign up, go to http://www.getthemsomeshoes.co.za.
